DYWIDAG-Systems International (DSI) is pleased to announce that DSI has aquired the Stewart Mining Products business in Eastern Canada
Commencing February 24th, 2005 the business will operate as DSI-Stewart Mining Products Inc. It will be a wholly owned subsidiary of DSI Canada and will operate from the existing location in Rouyn-Noranda with the warehouse facility in Sudbury, Ontario. All employees have transferred to the new company.
DSI is pleased to have made this acquisition for a number of reasons. Stewart Mining Products Inc. has a wide range of products, an excellent reputation for value as well as strong customer service. They manufacture smooth and reinforcing steel products as well as parts designed according to customer specifications.
Since 2003, DSI Mining has successfully operated a business unit in Western Canada, DSI-Thiessen. The acquisition of Stewart will compliment this business by providing a manufacturing, sales and distribution base in the East providing DSI Mining with full coverage of the Canadian market.
