DYWI ® Drill System

Drill Bits

XX

Two stage cross cut drill bit, suitable for loose ground and fills. Soil types: Sand, Clay and Medium Dense Gravels. SPT N values: 0-35

EY / EYY
Hardened tri blade drill bit with a drop centre button face. Blade face offers increased cutting performance in Fills and Chalk. (EYY denotes tungsten carbide blades)

Soil types:
EY: Chalks, Marls, Gravels. EYY: Softer Sedimentary Rocks i.e. Siltstones and Mudstones.

ESF
Hardened hemispherical button profile drill bit suitable for gravels and moderately weak rocks. Soil types: Gravel, Weathered Mudstones. SPT N values: 0-60 Small diameter ESF drill bit

ESSF
Tungsten carbide hemispherical button drill bit for moderately strong to strong rock, boulders and rubble. Rock types: Mudstone, Limestone, Schists and Volcanic Rock. Compressive Strength (UCS): Up to 80 MN/m 2 (I f 50 - 80mm)

EX / EXR
Hardened cross cut drill bit, suitable for the majority of applications including narrow bands of soft rock. (EXR denotes retroflush version)

Soil types: Fills, Shales, and Gravels.
SPT N values: 0-60

ESSD
As above but with drop centre configuration for greater directional stability in broken ground.

EC / ECC
Hardened tri crescent drill bit for increased productivity and better flushing. (ECC denotes tungsten carbide cutting faces, R32 only)

Soil types: Chalks, Marls and Weak Mudstones.
SPT N values: 0-60

EXX
Tungsten carbide chisel drill bit. EXX is the hardest drill bit available, for strong rock, hard seams and concrete footings. Rock types: Strong rock, Metamorphic and Igneous Rocks i.e. Slate and Granite. Compressive Strength (UCS): Up to 100 MN/m 2 (I f 95 - 200mm)

Drill Bit Adaptor Sleeves
Adaptor sleeves enable the use of a larger diameter drill bit with a specific bar size, increasing the borehole diameter and providing a greater surface area of bond in weak ground.
